The new Yamaha R15S is based on the version 3.0 model, though it comes with a unibody seat instead of split seats. The motorcycle will be available only in Racing Blue color and will be priced at Rs. 1,57,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

India Yamaha Motor has announced the launch of the 2021 Yamaha YZF-R15S V3.0 full faired motorcycle. As seen with the previous-gen model, the R15 with the ‘S’ suffix comes with a unibody seat, which gets a two-piece split seat as compared to the regular version. As the name indicates, the new R15S is based on the version 3.0 model, and will be sold alongside the YZF-R15 V4 model in India. The motorcycle will be available in Racing Blue color only and is priced at ₹ 1,57,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Speaking on the occasion, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said, “YZF-R15 in its version 3.0 was a huge success as it proved to be the most exciting model in the 150cc supersport segment with advanced technology and features. While the YZF-R15 in its version 3.0 proved to be the most exciting model in the 150cc supersport segment. The R15 V4 is being highly appreciated by customers across India, our research has shown that customers are looking for a more viable option to travel with a pillion, without compromising on the R15’s racing DNA. Always listening to the demands of our customers and making every effort to meet those demands. Hence, the R15S V3 with Unibody Seat was the obvious one.”

Visually, the Yamaha R15S V3.0 is identical to the regular version 3.0 model, except for the new single-piece seat. The bike continues to come with a fully digital multi-function LCD instrument cluster with gear shift indicator, twin LED headlamps, LED taillamps, and side stands with deltabox frame, aluminum swingarm and engine cut-off switch. The motorcycle also comes with 17-inch black alloy wheels at both the ends, shod with 140/70 section tubeless tires at the rear and 100/80 section tires upfront. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both the ends along with a dual-channel ABS unit.
The 2021 Yamaha YZF-R15S V3.0 continues to be powered by a 155 cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine that churns out a maximum power output of 18.34 bhp at 10,000 rpm coupled with torque output. 14.1 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The fuel-injected motor also comes with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
