Step 1: Install ‘Transcriber for WhatsApp’
Go to Google Play Store and install the app. There isn’t much setting to do, but the app will only detect English and Spanish languages by default. You can go to the app’s settings to choose another language like English and Hindi to be detected.
Step 2: Share WhatsApp Voice Note to App
Go to the WhatsApp chat where the voice note is. Long press on a sound note to see the different options at the top right. Click on the three-dot menu and select ‘Share’.
Step 3: Select ‘Transcriber for WhatsApp’ to transcribe the voice note
From the sharing options that appear on the next screen, look for the Transcriber for WhatsApp app icon. Click on the app to open its interface. You will see two options for transcribing the app or listening in incognito mode (a secondary feature of the app). Select ‘Transcription’, discard any ads that appear, and wait a few seconds for the transcription to complete.
You will then see that the message has been transcribed in a small box from where you can either copy the transcribed text or share it directly. If the app works well for you, consider paying for its ad-free version to speed up the process.
