The trailer of Chhori promises a spooky horror film

Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday released the trailer of its upcoming Hindi offering Chhori. The trailer promises a spooky horror film set against a rural backdrop.

The trailer begins with Nushrat Bharucha playing the role of a heavily pregnant woman in the film, who takes refuge in the solitude of a remote village to escape a problem in her life. But, little did she know that she was getting herself into a bigger problem, which involved dark rituals and vengeful spirits. It seems that the ghosts of an evil woman and three children, who yearn to play hide and seek, are taking the life of her unborn child.

Will Nusrat’s character and her unborn child be able to break out of the God-forbidden village? Or will they succumb to the tricks of the vengeful ghosts?

Going by the trailer, director Vishal Furia seems to have got all the right ingredients in terms of visuals to create fear. A deserted house in the midst of sugarcane crops, and a dark color palette drenched in blue create a perfect mood for a horror movie.

Talking about Chhori, Nushrat Bharucha said in a statement, “Though the story of the film is anchored in horror, it also has a point of view that I hope the audience will relate to. The trailer is just a glimpse of a bigger horror that is ready to be unraveled.”

Vishal Furia said, “With Chori, we aim to take this horror story to a larger segment of the film watchers and allow fans of the genre to experience horror like never before.”

Directed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishnan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis and Shikha Sharma, Chhori is the Hindi remake of the Marathi film Lapchapi.

Apart from Nushrat Bharucha, Chhori also stars Meeta Vashisht, Rajesh Jais, Saurabh Goyal and Yania Bharadwaj.

Chhori is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 26.
