Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif, Javed Jaffrey, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh, Jackie Shroff, Sikander Kher, Nikitin Dheer, Rajendra Gupta and Kumud Mishra. It stars Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgan in cameo roles. The film is a part of Shetty’s cop universe. It introduces the third character in the cinematic universe – DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Kumar). While the film dominated the box office, it received mixed response from film critics.
Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film two stars and wrote, “Not only do we get rocky marital relationships and weeping lectures on family values, but also a film that gives us its other (those bad bad Muslim jihadis)”. Takes pains to weaken us. Good Muslims who are patriots. We love our Kalams, look, not those murderers. Is the director expedient? Or is he bravely hoisting the flag for Bollywood, which is a With our tongues for a crumbling integrated India, perhaps the only place left where we can hear ‘Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian’ in a sentence. Even if it is used as a ‘jumla’, good people , I sat down, noted and cheered. New India, and what will the new Indians do, however, when this talk is heard and heard with pride?”
Rohit Shetty’s next film is Circus, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
