“Patiala With Us For 400 Years”: Amarinder Singh To Fight The Garh

Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has announced that he will contest the upcoming state assembly elections from the Patiala assembly constituency. “I will contest from Patiala. Patiala has been with us for 400 years and I will not leave it because of Sidhu,” Captain Singh said on his official Facebook page. Patiala has been a bastion of Mr Singh’s family, he has won the seat four times and his wife Preneet Kaur represented it for three years from 2014 to 2017. Mr Singh had announced his political party, Punjab Lok Congress, earlier this month.

Mr Singh had in April this year challenged state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu to contest from the seat against him during an ongoing tussle between the two, which turned into a complete crisis in the party’s state unit and the party’s unofficial Caused exit. Mr. Singh as the Chief Minister of the state.

Mr Singh reportedly told Mr Sidhu that he would be as widely defeated as the BJP’s Gen (retd) JJ Singh, who had contested the 2017 election, but with over 60,000 votes from Mr Singh and only 11.1. Ended up with percentage votes and lost their vote. resulting in security deposit.
