Captain Stephanie Taylor scored an unbeaten 102 as the West Indies women’s team completed a whitewash by defeating Pakistan by six wickets in the three-match ODI series at the National Stadium on Sunday. Set 226 for victory, the visitors chased down the target in the fifth over at the loss of four wickets in 44 overs at 15 for 3. Taylor then shared a comfortable 128-run fifth wicket partnership with Chadian Nation 51 to register a comfortable victory. West Indies also won the first two ODIs at the same venue in a comfortable fashion, with Deandra Dottin scoring a century in the first match.

Batting first, Pakistan could only manage 225 runs after skipper Javeria Khan was run out for the second time in the series. The team’s most experienced batsman Javeria could only score 13 runs but opener Muniba Ali scored 58 runs in 88 balls with the help of eight fours.

Once she could only make a meaningful contribution by dismissing Alia Riaz (44 off 57 balls) and Omaima Sohail (27) and Erum Javed (26).

Shakira Selman and Alia Allene took two wickets each for the visiting team.

Left-arm spinner Anam Amin and pacer Diana Baig sent back the first three visiting batsmen cheaply, but then Stefanie Taylor batted beautifully in her 117-ball knock with 12 fours, while Chedian kept her pace.
