“No Democracy In Tripura”: CM On BJP Leaders’ Attack

Sudip Roy Burman said that a “parachutist leader” is using “BJP goons from CPM” for personal agenda.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who was already a target of Trinamool Congress, has now been targeted by two prominent members of his party. Declaring that “there is no democracy in Tripura”, BJP MLAs Sudip Roy Burman and Ashish Saha urged people to use their votes against the “goondaism going on in the state” and threats from “goons of the ruling party”. Said.

Without naming the chief minister, who was Delhi’s choice for the post, Mr. Roy Burman said a “parachutist leader” is using “BJP goons from the CPM” who he claimed are Mr. Deb’s “personal agenda” – central leadership by winning elections by any means dear to themselves.

He said the state has turned into a “negativity-filled war zone” where threats are used against him to prevent people from casting their votes and reveal his popularity among the BJP’s central leadership.

The 54-year-old former minister said, “There has been massive violence across the state against a section of people who once risked their lives and spent their money to remove the communists and bring the BJP to power.”

“Today, thousands of BJP workers believe that these goons are defaming BJP and national leaders… instead of contesting elections on issues like development, personal attacks and character assassination are taking place. The paratrooper leader is mentally deformed,” he said.

“Police has miserably failed to protect life and property. Now I urge common people to oppose evil forces which are not BJP… they are playing a wrong game, they once in Tripura Trying to help communists again,” he added.

Tripura’s ruling BJP is already under attack from the Trinamool Congress over alleged political violence in the state. The party has also approached the Supreme Court alleging that the state officials were contemptuous of the Supreme Court order and sought action against them. The court had ordered the state to provide security to the Trinamool leaders and ensure free and fair elections.
