New Zealand vs Australia: Towards T20 World Cup final

Australia and New Zealand clashed on Sunday in the final blockbuster of the T20 World Cup 2021. Before the big clash, here’s a look at both Australia and New Zealand on their way to the finals.

New Zealand are looking like the most prepared team in the ongoing T20 World Cup. He has done exceptionally well in both batting and bowling. They have three excellent bowlers to hunt down the opposition as well as two effective spinners who bowl economically in the middle.

New Zealand:

The Blackcaps had a poor start and lost their first match against Pakistan. Batting first, they were restricted to 134/8 in 20 overs and the Babar Azam-led side chased down smoothly with 10 balls to spare.

The match against India gave the Blackcaps a lot of confidence as they toppled Kohli’s side and restricted them to just 110 runs in 20 overs. He chased down the target with ease and won the match.

In the match between Kiwis vs Scotland, Scotland played really well but could not overtake New Zealand as they lost by just 16 runs.

New Zealand registered an easy 52-run victory in the match against Namibia.

In the crucial encounter between New Zealand and Afghanistan, Kane Williamson’s team defeated Afghanistan by 8 wickets to make it to the semi-finals.

In the semi-final against England, Daryl Mitchell emerged as a new hero for New Zealand as he chased down the target of 167 with one over to spare and registered himself in the final.


Australia got off to a good start and won a thrilling match against South Africa with two balls to spare. He chased down the target of 119 runs easily.

In the match against Sri Lanka, Australia’s team showed aggressive attitude while chasing the target of 155 runs in just 17 overs.

Australia lost their first match against England as they were bundled out for just 125 runs and England chased down the target with ease.

Australia bowled out Bangladesh as Bangla Tigers were bundled out for just 73 and Australia chased down an easy target and won the match.

In the match played between Australia vs West Indies, West Indies scored a total of 157 runs. The Australian batsmen proved to be the best as they easily won by eight wickets.

Gallantry from Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis blew up the Pakistani side and qualified for the finals of the tournament.
