India T20I deputy KL Rahul on Monday said his team’s focus will be on the next World Cup but from this point on every series is equally point. India will take on New Zealand in the three-match T20I series starting in Jaipur from Wednesday. Rohit Sharma will lead the team while Rahul will act as the deputy. “Long term goal is to focus on the World Cup but we will focus on the process and from now on every series is important. We will try to see which combinations are right for us and can be used for the World Cup but Right now we will focus on one series at a time,” said Rahul during a virtual press conference on Monday.

Rahul also praised batsman Rohit Sharma and said that his strategy and understanding of the game is really commendable.

“There is nothing new under Rohit’s captaincy. We have been watching him lead Mumbai Indians for a long time and his stats are very good. He has a good understanding of the game and his strategy is really good. We all look forward to seeing him.” I have fun. Rohit bats. T20 matches will be played in Jaipur on November 17, Ranchi on November 19 and Kolkata on November 21.


After the T20I series, New Zealand will play a two-match Test series starting on November 25.

The two Tests will be played in Kanpur (25-29 November) and Mumbai (3-7 December).
