Jimmy Shergill started with Matchbox in the late 1990s. After Gahan Gulzar film, Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein came and the actor became the talk of the town. He was the boy-next-door who made his way into the hearts of the audience and it is commendable that even two decades later, Jimmy continues to engage with his audience. The boy who bled for his love on screen 20 years ago is now a man who is ready to sacrifice his life for his son Sony Live Your Honor. The second season of the show ended this Friday and the return of judge Bishan Khosla, who has been in a dilemma since the beginning.

He didn’t want Kashi to die. , He just wanted to save his son but that made things even more complicated. This time Bishan has realized that there is no way out of these problems. He knows that he will have to face the consequences,” he shared.

In the first season of Your Honor, Judge Bishan Khosla played Jimmy, who was trying to save his son after accidentally killing a dreaded criminal in a hit-and-run case. The season ended with a big revelation as Bishan learns that the murder was not an accident. “In the second season, Bishan realized that he cannot run, he cannot even solve these problems, so there is no option but to face the music. What happens after you accept your circumstances becomes the plot of the second season,” shared Jimmy.

Jimmy shared with us that there is a sense of universality to this story that connects people to the show. Jimmy said, “Any father, whatever profession he is in, wonders what he would have done if he had been in place of Bishan Khosla.” It is probably the universal nature of the story that has worked for this so far as the show was adapted from an Israeli show of the same name.

Jimmy is enjoying the crime thriller space in Your Honor, he wants to go back to his roots and move to the romantic space. “I definitely want to do more light-hearted and romantic characters now. I would love to do this. Give me a chance and I’ll prove to you that I can do it.” Jimmy understands that he no longer fits the college boy profile, but he also believes that if the right kind of light-hearted, comic film. If he gets it, he will be eager to do it. “Something like Dil Vil Pyaar Vyar, something that is quite light, I want to do that. It is not that I am not offered such parts, I have got some But none excites me yet. There has to be something exciting, unique in the story or the character, so you are excited to give a full year for it.”

Talking about his previous films like Dil Vil Pyaar Vyar, one cannot talk about Tigmanshu Dhulia. Haasil Jahan Jimmy starred opposite Irrfan Khan. When asked about the making of the film, Jimmy recalled that he still has “beautiful memories” of the making of that film. “I still remember how we made that film. I was doing a lot of films in those days – Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Kehta Hai Dil Baar, Dil Vil Pyaar Vyar and I was really busy. Amidst all this, Haasil Came to me and we decided that we will make it somehow. So whenever I got 4-5 days, or whenever another shoot was canceled or postponed, I would give my time to Haasil. We would shoot a song or something. We kept shooting every month. I loved working on that set. That atmosphere and everything, I have fond memories of that film.”
