Indonesia Open: B Sai Praneeth reaches quarter-finals
Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth entered the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Open on Thursday. Praneeth defeated Christo Popov of France 21-17, 14-21, 21-19 on Court 2 in a match that lasted 83 minutes. Indian shuttler won the first game. However, the French rival made a remarkable comeback in the second, but went down again in the third. Ace-shuttler Kidambi Srikanth bowed out of the tournament after losing 21-14, 21-18 against Viktor Axelsen in a match that lasted 37 minutes on Court 1.
Earlier, two-time Olympic medalist and star Indian shuttler PV Sindhu also won the match by defeating German badminton player Yvonne Lee 21-12, 21-18 in 37 minutes.
Men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Kang Minhyuk and Seo Seungjae of South Korea 21-15, 19-21, 23-21.
