Manchester City took to social media to wish the legendary boxer MC Mary Kom. The 2012 London Olympic bronze medalist turned 39 on Wednesday and received well wishes from fans and celebrities on social media. Known to have a huge fan following in India, the Premier League outfit also posted a picture of the boxer donning a Man City jersey and captioned it, “A Very Happy Birthday to MC Mary Kom! Memorable 2020 on Diwali campaign We worked together”.

Mary Kom is the only woman to have won 13 gold medals at the World Amateur Boxing Championships, Asian Amateur Boxing Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

The six-time world champion recently reached the pre-quarters of the Tokyo Olympics and crashed out after a hard-fought loss.
The multiple-time Asian gold medalist has not competed since leaving Tokyo and has also been ruled out of the national championships to be held in Hisar from October 21.
He was also recently awarded the Padma Vibhushan. Second highest civilian award in India.
