Agricultural Law: The meeting of the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) has started on the future course of action.

New Delhi:

A day after PM Modi announced the withdrawal of three controversial agriculture laws, farmers have held a meeting at the Singhu border protest site near the Delhi-Haryana border. The leadership of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of farmers’ unions leading the protests, is meeting today to decide the future course of action for the protesting farmers. Ahead of another meeting of 32 SKM leaders of Punjab, 9 members of core committee are meeting which is scheduled at 2 PM today.

The SKM leadership had yesterday said they would continue to occupy the six protest sites in the national capital at least till the law is withdrawn in the winter session of Parliament beginning on November 29.

SKM leader Darshan Pal and Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait had also said yesterday that the government guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops is equally important for farmers. He linked it to farmer suicides across the country.
