Actress Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by a Delhi Assembly panel over her remarks against Sikhs on peace and harmony, sources have said. Ms. Ranaut has been asked to appear before the committee headed by Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha on December 6.
Sources said Ms Ranaut has been summoned for her “objectionable and derogatory remarks on Sikhs”.
The actor also faces an FIR or FIR filed by Sikhs in Mumbai for using derogatory language against him on social media.
The police complaint, filed by a Mumbai-based businessman and leaders of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal, alleged that Ms Ranaut “deliberately and willfully” organized the year-long protest by farmers against the three new agricultural laws as “Khalistani”. “Depicted as a movement. And called them “Khalistani terrorists”.
