Apart from launching the Infiniti electric scooter, Bounce will also set up a battery swapping station for the customers. The scooter will be sold with a battery pack as an optional, allowing buyers access to the company’s swapping stations on pay as well as a lower acquisition price if the policy is used. The company says that the scooter will use a lithium-ion unit that can be carried back to the home or office for charging convenience. Bounce says that the optional battery pack will reduce the scooter’s running cost by up to 40 percent compared to the traditional petrol-powered offering.
Bounce entered the electric two-wheeler segment after acquiring 100 per cent stake in 22 Motors. The upcoming e-scooter will be manufactured at 22 Motors’ Bhiwadi plant in Rajasthan. The facility has an installed capacity of 180,000 scooters per year. Bounce has set aside $100 million for further investments in the EV business next year. The company is planning to set up its second plant somewhere in the south in future.
