New Delhi:

Abhishek Bachchan will play the character of ‘Bob Biswas’ in Sujoy Ghosh’s next film of the same name. Gaining weight was a difficult experience for Abhishek Bachchan. The actor weighed around 105 kg during the shooting Bob Biswas.Unlike many actors, Abhishek was not ready to use CGI or prosthetics to achieve Bob’s look and feel and instead, he tried his best to gain weight to look and feel like Bob. In an interview with India Today, Abhishek Bachchan reveals how he envisioned becoming bob biswas And why it was so important for him to gain weight.

in an interview, bob biswas Talking about being asked to wear a bodysuit, star Abhishek Bachchan said, “I tried it, I like to give everyone a fair chance. I was not happy with it because of the lack of movement. put prosthetic stomach, it’s very lifeless. And you look fake somewhere. I did it 14-15 years ago in Guru, I did it for Bob, I gained a little weight for Big Bull as the role required But for Bob, I had to push it to another level. I got between 100-105kg while shooting. When you do prosthetics on the cheeks, it looks like a prosthetic. The stomach also moves in a different way. When you have weight and you are physically lifting that weight, your overall performance changes because your body language changes your weight, your gait, your walk, your run, everything changes. ” He continued, “The weight drags you down a bit. So, I wanted that slight hump. I wanted that in the walk. For me, I think if I can see the character, I feel like my 50% of the performance is taken care of. That’s what we did. It was very difficult. It was fun. I mean to lose weight. Then, shooting in Kolkata in winter. You can have Good Sandesh and all the wonderful sweets of Kolkata But mentally I got stuck because due to the lockdown we had to stop our shooting in the middle and we were almost done 80 percent of the work. And,we had 10-15 days more work left.During the lockdown , I had to maintain that weight. That was tough. Because it’s not good to be overweight like that. It’s too cumbersome, and I’m not even into the effects on your health, but that kind of weight It’s hard to carry around. You have what you have to do for your work and your film. Sad to lose it for your next project, which I was shooting for soon,” In conversation with Today.

He further talked about his mental transformation, saying, “To be honest, it was a hard and deep-sea tunnel. Bob has lost his memory, so everything is fair game. There are no dos and don’ts.” So, it was basically the process of completely rediscovering a person. Even emotionally, waking up from a coma and not remembering anything is a tough task for anyone.” Abhishek also revealed how a part of his character will also stay with him no matter what.

The actor was also asked how his daughter and the Bachchan family reacted to his weight gain, to which he said, “The family was very understanding as they knew it was second nature for actors to be at home and everyone went through the process. used to.”
