India won the first match of the three-match T20I series against New Zealand at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday. New Zealand have troubled India in ICC events in the recent past and have also been runners-up in the recently concluded T20 World Cup where India were knocked out after the conclusion of the Super 12 rounds. Meanwhile, during the first T20I between the two teams on Wednesday, India pacer Deepak Chahar and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill were involved in a series of incidents that caught the attention of the visitors.

On the first ball of the 18th over, Guptill hit Chahar for a no-look six which covered a distance of 98 metres. Guptill uses the long handle of the bat and slams the ball into the stands for a huge six. The opener didn’t even look at the ball and started looking at Chahar after hitting the big ball.

However, Chahar took revenge and dismissed the flamboyant opener off the very next ball. The delivery was almost the same as the previous one and Guptill tried to play that too in the night sky but fell short and was caught near the boundary line by Shreyas Iyer.

The Chennai Super Kings fast bowler stared at Guptill when he was leaving the field after being dismissed.

Apart from this fight, Guptill had scored 70 runs in 42 balls in the first T20I, while Mark Chapman also played a scintillating innings of 63 runs to help the Blackcaps post a total of 164/6 against the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team .
